A Dedicated Leader in Education
Meet Natalie Conway, an exceptional educator with 19 years of experience, who has been an instructor at The Innovative Northwest Teacher (TINT) since 2014.
Natalie's academic journey is a testament to her commitment to education. She holds a BA in Elementary and Special Education from Providence College, an M.Ed. in Special Education from Bridgewater State University, and a Master's in Education Leadership from Western Governors University. Her career has been diverse, including teaching in traditional classrooms, transitioning to online education, curriculum development, educator training, and serving as an administrator in public education.
At TINT, Natalie has been instrumental in creating special education, behavior, and neuroscience courses. Her Collaborative Solutions course, for instance, has had a significant impact on educators, challenging traditional thinking about classroom management and helping them improve their skills and build a positive classroom community, which in turn benefits students.
Natalie also leads the Understanding Autism course, a comprehensive program that covers the advancements in understanding autism.
"So much has changed over the last ten years; we've learned so much," says Natalie. I've found many educators have taken this course not only to work with students with autism, but to seek insights due to having an autistic child or family member. I end up having a lot of really rewarding conversations with my students in this course."
According to Natalie, what sets TINT apart from other continuing education programs is the fact that all the instructors are or have been practicing educators.
“We’re not removed from the field. TINT content is so much more relevant and personable. We understand that you can’t implement all course work, which is why I enjoy having the ability to connect with teachers and individualize what will work for them.”
Natalie's passion for continued learning, her unwavering dedication to supporting fellow educators, and her willingness to guide others make her an inspiring leader in the education field.
"The inherent value in learning is feeding your curiosity," says Natalie. "If you're really invested in education as a profession, you will always be interested in learning.”
"You will be a better educator, and it will open doors down the road and enable you to take on different roles," she adds.
