Language for Learning: The Power of Words-
Language is a powerful teaching tool which, when used skillfully by teachers, can help students of all abilities to succeed. In this course you will learn how to ask open-ended questions that stretch children’s thinking. You will explore research based approaches to giving brief, clear and concrete instructions and meaningful encouragement, as well as the art of listening and using silence. In this distance learning course you will work at your own pace.
You will be working from the required text, The Power of Our Words: Teacher Language that Helps Children Learn by Paula Denton.
