Creating a Poetry Friendly Classroom

Bring enthusiasm and excitement to your classroom through poetry! This hands-on poetry course will show you a variety of ways to incorporate poetry into the K-8 classroom, while nurturing the poet inside every child. Learn how to cover a multitude of state standards through poetry lessons that engage children regardless of whether they are the struggling or the gifted writer.  You will become familiar with famous poets, key poetry forms, analyzing poetry, poetry books and web resources. Grades K-8 (PSU: Ci-810).


Fall:

   Register anytime until 11/5/10.

    Course work due 12/5/10.        

    Grades posted online (www.pdx.edu) 12/15/10.

Fees:   3 Graduate Quarter Credits: $165 PSU + $480 TINT

     (Noncredit: $480 TINT)

Portland State University is changing the way fees are collected.

Although total tuition amounts are unchanged PSU credit students will now make two payments:

  1. 1.a course fee payable to TINT (paid by all students)

2. a credit fee payable to PSU (paid by credit students only)

All materials and assignments will be found online and can be completed through email or sent to your instructor in the mail. Grades available online (www.pdx.edu).
